Bobbin Stool Copper

Bobbin Stool Copper
Antique Bobbin Stool
Bobbin furniture originated at the end of the 17th century in the US, UK, and the Netherlands. The legs and details were turned on a lathe to recreate the appearance of a spool — a simple yet distinctive shape that has stood the test of time and continues to bridge the line between traditional and contemporary.
Each stool is antique — over 100 years old, hand-crafted, and entirely unique. No two are ever the same. Subtle variations in size, patina, or design, along with the natural signs of age — a dent, a scratch, a touch of discoloration, or even a leg that isn’t fully straight — all add to the authentic charm and story of these pieces. Every stool is individually sourced, carefully inspected, and restored with respect for its history.
Bobbin stools are slightly lower than regular chairs and feature a square back. This makes them wonderfully versatile:
– Perfect for children.
– Ideal in the hallway for putting shoes on and off.
– Charming as a bedside table.
– Practical as a little step for young ones.
– Stylish in a corner under a photo frame, or even as a place to drape a sweater.
This stool is available in its original wood and patina, or it can be painted in a colour that fits seamlessly into your interior. (An additional charge applies for custom painting — see our other listings for examples.)
